The Year Plan

This is what our plan for the next 12 months leading up to the wedding is:

18th July 2009, 3pm (afternoon wedding) St Cuthberts and The Town Hall


12 Months before (July or coming up to due to Africa):


Budgeting
Talk to church (St Cuthberts) and a minister
Decide number of guests - draw up a list
Book a reception venue (Town Hall)
Book musician, DJ, bands for reception
(Book magician or other wedding entertainment maybe paddy)
Book the caterers (sit down meal)
Book the photographer
Book wedding transport
Book the florist
Book the Toastmaster
Book the Honeymoon - Maldives
Order the Cake (grandma's to makes it)
Book an overnight hotel/bridal suite
Start looking for a wedding dress
Decide on bridesmaids and ushers (sisters/Brothers (+Craig,)
Decide on best man
Confirm all bookings in writing


6 Months before (January time)


Attend initial dress fitting
Choose Brides shoes and accessories
Choose wedding attire for groom (Number 1 uniform), best man, bridesmaids, fathers, mothers, ushers
Choose the wedding rings
Order (make) wedding favours
Notify bank and other relevant that you intend to change your name and as what affect it will have
Order wedding invitations (make?) and other stationary
Arrange to see a hairdresser to discuss hair styles, take along veil, a picture of dress
Book a beautician for wedding day (Bex to do make up)


3 Months before (March/April)


Send out invitations
Decide upon a wedding list and make sure its available for guests
Advise guest to book accommodation if they need it
Confirm details with minister
Decide on wedding music and hymns
Arrange for order of service sheets to be printed
Buy gifts for best man, bridesmaids, ushers
Discuss seating plan with caterers (Get dad in)
Arrange vacations if they are needed
Start to plan hen/stag do (spa for Sam)


1 Month before (June)


Arrange for final fitting of dress
Reconfirm arrangements for reception
Reconfirm arrangements for caterers
Reconfirm arrangements for florist
Reconfirm arrangements for photographer
Reconfirm arrangements for wedding transport
Reconfirm honeymoon arrangements
Reconfirm all entertainment
Have hen/stag night (Relaxing spa day for Sam)
Finalise seating plan with caterers
Arrange a wedding rehearsal
Send out thank you cards to all those who replied
Telephone any guests that haven?t replied
Organise a date to pick up outfits
Write speeches, (best man, groom, father of the bride)


7 days before (11th July)


Have wedding rehearsal
Pack for your honeymoon
Wear-in your wedding shoes
Organise with bex/ mum and emergency kit
Give order of service sheet to minister
Order foreign currency/ travellers cheque if needed
Give the rings to the best man
Give best man/ toastmaster a contact list in case they need to be contacted on the day.


The day before (17th July)


Have the day off
Brides and groom nails manicured
Grooms have hair tidied up
Grooms have a proper shave at barbers
Spend rest of days relaxing
Have an early night


On the day (18th July)


0900 get up have a relaxing bath
0930 have a good breakfast (something safe)
1000 bride have nails polished
1030 have hair styled
1200 best man arrives to collect luggage/ greeting cards
1230 the bridesmaid and pageboy arrives
1300 have your makeover
1330 Brides and bridesmaids get dressed
1400 Photographer arrives to take prearranged photographs
1430 wedding transport arrives to take mother and bridesmaids/page boys to church
1440 wedding transport arrives to take bride and father to church
1458 Bride and father at entrance bridesmaids lined up behind meets them
1500 Wedding go, go, go
